I'll want to know about your project, climate, and what kind of help you need. I won't have time to look at plans or dive into specifics about your project.

My Building a Healthy and Resilient Home class will teach you about every major decision you’ll need to make to build your healthy home. When you finish this class, you'll have a personalized requirements document for your healthy home. You'll understand why you made the decisions that you made, and you'll be able to hand that document to your architect or designer or design builder and say, this is what the home should look like and, more importantly, this is how it should be built.

Once we sign a contract, I'm here for you and you can reach out anytime you're stumped or need an educated second opinion, or even just a word of encouragement. I love finding creative, build-science-based solutions to tricky problems. Building a home is stressful. I try to help alleviate that stress whenever possible.

My Rates
My hourly rate is $150. I charge only for the time I spend answering your question, with have a minimum charge of $15 per interaction, so if you email me a quick question and it takes me a 6 minutes or less to answer it, then I'll only charge you $15 for that interaction. The vast majority of questions asked by established clients are taken care of with that $15 minimum charge.
You don’t need to pay for calls upfront. I keep detailed billing records in my accounting software. Once a month, I send out invoices to everyone who owes more than $50. You have 30 days to pay online.
Most of my clients spend between $3000-5000 total on my services during the build, but it can vary depending on how much help you need. You are not locked into any kind of minimum expenditure or package deal. Once we are in contract, I am a resource for you as needed throughout your design and build process. You're in charge; I'm here when you need me.
Assuming that your home costs an average of $300,000-500,000 to build, that means my services will account for 1% of your total home build. General contractors usually charge 20+%. Realtors charge 6%. 1% of your home build to make sure you have a design that accounts for how the home is being built, and a checklist for making sure it gets built that way, is nothing. I try to keep my pricing very fair, because my family has been down this path as well, and I know firsthand how devastating it can be. My goal in life is to help people build healthy homes.
